Are you a senior HR leader with manufacturing experience? Would you like to join a growing company that values developing people and delivering for the customer? Conax is looking for a Human Resource Leader to partner with the organization’s leadership to build talent and capability for the future. The position is based in the Buffalo, NY headquarters plant and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Working in a continuous improvement environment, the successful person strengthens financial performance and the employee experience. As a member of the leadership team, the Leader is responsible for all areas of human resources, including benefits, payroll, general HRIS data, talent management, sourcing, recruiting, onboarding and retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributing to the leadership of continuous improvement (lean) initiatives
Fostering an engaging, high-performing culture and a great place to work
Resolving complex employee relations issues including coaching leadership
Managing the various legal requirements related to all areas of human resources
Overseeing training and development programming, including career and succession planning, as needed
Providing consultative support as a business partner to each member of the leadership team
Developing HR plans that support business strategies and capability needs
Overseeing environmental health and safety
Participating in union negotiating committee
DESIRED SKILL REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:

Consultation and relationship management
Lean or continuous improvement cultures and methods
Ability to drive a culture that reflects “respect for people”
Creative problem-solving and decision-making
Experienced in supporting high functioning teams
Effective communicator on all levels including coaching skills
Literacy of financial performance and key performance indicators
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of manufacturing human resources generalist experience
Management of most key areas of human resources
Continuous Improvement/lean experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Manufacturing/operations experience outside of human resources is a plus
Union experience a plus
